Parties

"My advice to you...is to start drinking heavily."
- John Belushi, Animal House

It's Tuesday, one in the afternoon. You get into your room, fire up the XBOX 360 for a best of three FIFA series with your housemates/roommates, and the inevitable question "What kind of a party you guys wanna have this weekend?" comes up as you anticipate this upcoming weekend's round of festivities.

"I don't know, how about Golf Pros and Clubhouse Hoes," says one roommate. Everyone sits around, using 40% of their brain power to ponder its potential success, 40% cogitating whether or not Thierry Henry's cross is about to hit the back of the net, and the remaining 20% of their brain cells on how likely they will end up married to Natalie Portman upon their graduation of college.

"It's a start," remarks your friend who did end up putting that cross past your goalie's hands. "But what are some other ideas?"

Here's the deal. You guys are smart. This is the whole reason that you're in college and not rummaging around New York subways with the pigeons looking for scraps of leftover food for dinner. (Not to say that some of you still won't end up sharing a bench at night with Crazy Charlie in twenty years). So get original; originality is many times the key to success in anything with life. As successful as a Golf Pros and Clubhouse Hoes party can be, chances are that most people have already participated in something along those lines and have a penchant for something new, crazy, different and most importantly fun.

As a result, here at Practical U we've compiled a list of party themes and ideas for you to use outright, tweak, or base your own ideas off of for that next bender you throw that the whole campus will be talking about for the next week. Some are certainly more prevalent among college campuses than others, but our goal is to incorporate some original ideas into the list that we've had firsthand experience with and, to our belief, were more than efficacious in terms of their success.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Practical U
